For the past year
(since Aug/98) I have been feeding the dog a raw food diet. This has
consisted of feeding raw chicken (bones included), juiced veggies,
canned fish (sardines, pink salmon, mackeral) and other goodies, as well
as adding supplements. Yes I am talking about raw chicken bones. And raw
beef or pork bones for recreational chewing. But the main idea here is
that this is fed RAW, not cooked. Raw bones are easily eaten and
absorbed by a dog's digestive system. The minerals, enzymes, etc are
readily adsorbed by the dogs system. It's only when COOKED bones are
given to a dog that problems can and will occur. I have found that my
dogs are looking better, feeling better, their teeth and clean and shiny without having to go to the vets for cleaning, their breath is
sweet, and their dog doo is smaller, more compact (since they are
getting more nutritional value from their food) and it doesn't stink
like it used too.
Breeders and pet
owners are finding that more and more of their dogs are dying of cancer,
kidney failure, heart failure, and contracting diseases such as
autoimmune problems, IBD, skin diseases, and allergies.
There are many
other breeders who feed their animals a raw diet, and have for many
years. We believe that we need to take the dog's diet back to more
natural means, the way they used to be fed before commercial kibbles
came out.

the commercial kibble. Some of it is quite gross and graphic, so be
forewarned. If you'd like some further information, please give me a
shout. I do not recommend starting your dog(s) on a raw diet unless you
read the books or talk to a person who is already feeding this diet.
